The Archaeological Society of British Columbia was established in 1966 and is a non-profit society dedicated to the protection of archaeological resources and the spread of archaeological knowledge. The main ASBC branch, located in Vancouver, B.C. publishes both “The Midden” and the ASBC newsletter “SocNotes”. In addition to Victoria, Nanaimo is the other active ASBC society branch.
